TENACIOUS PRESS: "Our 2013 New York Comic Con booth will again be a collective-style booth, but 50% larger than last year. We have an entire block of six booths at the very heart of "The Block" which is the section of NYCC dedicated to art toys, lowbrow artists and the companies that support them."

UME Toys' "Peggy Candycorn" is limited to 10 pieces at US$40 a piece, available exclusively via Geek Stuff booth Z16 and Z17.


Limited edition "Tenacious Bogie" from Furry Feline Creatives are limited to 10 pieces and priced at US$40. Score these 15" tall plush via the Tenacious Toys booth #208.


NYCC Tenacious Toys Exclusive edition of MEGASETH from Lisa Rae Hansen with only 5 pieces to be had. US$60 for each 4" tall resin piece. Judging from the piece I own, this is exceptionally awesomeness, no b.s.


"Madknits Minis" are a plush and resin mashup using a wool blend felt body and handcast resin faces. Stand just under 4" tall, they will be released at booth #425 in The Block via blind bag style with four initial characters and 1 in 10 being a special one off (hand painted details, GID, etc). Price at NYCC is US$12 per.

Launched September 15th, "The Wiseman and the Crane" by KiD iNK iNDUSTRiES for Tenacious Toys' Super Series Sundays - purchasable here for US$25 per blind-bagged pull. 36 unique colors of 3.5-inch tall resin to collect. Somehow I wish there was a twist to the aesthetics, rather than a visual replication of chinese sculpts, IMHO.


The debut release of Scribe's "Scrimshaw Mattenoot" happens Friday Sept 20 at noon PST purchasable via www.cardboardspaceshiptoys.com. Priced at US$55 each, and in an edition of 20 x handmade resin pieces, they come signed and numbered by the artist. Somehow am not too jazzed by this figurine, who looks like a "beached whale" placed on the floor like that. If there was a semblance of a raised pedestal/stand, or an "illusion" that the beast is floating and swimming, that would indeed be swell, IMHO.


New resin toy from Paul Shih - with more of the work-in-progress shots of the Fortune Cookie viewable here. Expect item to be released end of September. The fumanchu-moustache bothers me a tad (although it somehow reminds me of a taoist-ish chinese vampire-hunter lol), but perhaps a caricature representation best suits this creation. Perhaps some color will shed some light on this piece :)

Sideshow Collectibles has Batman (@ US$204.99) and Robin (@ US$189.99) available for pre-order, with an expected ship date circa April 2014. I am torn between wonderous-gasps, and abject raised eyebrows for unfitting costumes (are they geriatric folks with loose underwear?) LOL


Paul Kaiju's 4" tall Metal Mockbats and 4" tall Anniversary Luftkaiser gets released on Friday September 20th at 12PM PST via http://shop.toyartgallery.com - priced at US$135 and US$45 respectively. I reckon both looks lovely and the Mockbats are certainly pretty exciting for me!



Releasing Friday September 20th at 1pm pst VIA http://crummygummy.bigcartel.com are "Kirby Brains" and "Unicorn Urine" from the Crummy Gummys Series from Crummy Gummy X Manny X. Price is US$30 for a regular 3" and US$17 for 1.75" minis. 1 out of 5 will be a special “Taste Test” chase. They will only be available for the weekend in an open run with a 35hr window to order. Orders end once the clock strikes midnight PST on Saturday. All orders include a sticker pack. The name "Unicorn Urine" alone, is worth the price of admission LOL


3DRetro releases the SSUR Rebel Ape bust. Limited to 50 pieces with a suggested retail of US$150 per 12" tall vinyl bust. Green busts will be available for purchase September 19 at Noon PST. Black at ssur.com and army green 3Dretro.com. The other 5 color ways will release throughout the year.

I know I should be excited at the prospect, but somehow the "Planet of the Apes" notion of simian heads on humanoid bodies, might well have run it's course, in pop culture … although this does look pretty sweet, I haveta say LOL
