Angry Woebot Prints for #NYCC

Two slices of splendid artwork from Aaron "Angry Woebots" Martin, to be made into PRINTS available at New York ComicCon, with the above from Art Whino, while the below piece - aptly titled "TOTOWOE" - will be released by … hhmmm need to get back to you folks about that tho ;p

44

…while hardly a period for 'celebrations', I nevertheless decided to treat myself to some self-bought prezzies for my birthday (last Friday), simply because I needed to invigorate myself, rather than delve deeper into despair …

And while it would have been utterly poetic to have purchased 44 items = indicating my years alive on this mortal coil (and no I ain't no young buck here, sorry to shatter your image of moir p) - I instead snagged some economically priced items, to quell my turbulent toy-desires, which included 3 x Bootleg Lego CHIMA gachapons (what's up with the Doraemon in one of the capsules tho?), a classic-styled "Brick Game" (yet to slot in the batteries ;p), a couple of carded Hot Wheels I chanced upon today, and a "Kuromi" shampoo-bottle … yes, you read that right the first time.

Total damage = SGD$22.60 ... I could still afford that ... it is nearly the cost of taxi transport from Pasir Ris to Singapore General Hospital a single trip, and no, that does not mean I visit Dad less one day, don't be silly ;p

Hey, if I can't make myself "happy", how could I even begin to make others happy?

Season One of "Gatchaman Crowds" Anime Ends

Sunday, September 29, 2013

GATCHAMAN CROWDS ended it's first season on episode 12, and I am frankly left somewhat perturbed and ultimately unimpressed. Not that I abhor any ill-will towards re-envisioning, but perhaps this would serve better if not viewed in reference to the name-sake, IMHO.

The storyline waned somewhat in the middle, and picked up steam near the end, most possibly because we get to see all Gatchaman suits in action (as short as they were featured), even the series villain "Berg-Katze" got to show it's! Still would not mind it if they were made into action figures tho ;p

Watch "Gatchaman Crowds" on crunchyroll.com (US-based viewers) and/or gogoanime.com (watchable for Asia).

At the very least we still have the show's opening theme ("Crowds" by WHITE ASH / Full version here) and closing theme ("INNOCENT NOTE" by Uchida Maaya) to remember by, and this post would serve as a "closure" to my "Introductory" feature post :)

NECA-PACIFIC-RIM-SERIES-2

Here's a look at Series 2 of NECA's "Pacific Rim" figures (image via Aaron Liu) - featuring the Kaiju Leatherback, a Battle Damaged Gypsy Danger, and Striker Eureka. Having missed scoring the first series, my desire for this has waned … although hopefully one day they'll ALL be readily available.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction

I've not been on top of the upcoming Michael Bay-directed Transformers movie - now with a name "Transformers 4: Age of Extinction" (seen above) - but since then, dude has been constantly posting images on his instagram @michaelbay, including the below image of Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor on the set of Transformers 4 (Photo by Andrew Cooper).

Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor

MARVEL releases an animated teaser video showcasing the movie title for "The Avengers: Age of Ultron", apparently showcased circa SDCC, but only now revealed online. Think I'll patiently wait for the movie's actual trailer to be excited, thanks.

Further reasons to watch "Marvel's Thor: The Dark World" presented in this video featurette (partial sarcasm mixed in with thinly-veiled interest from yours truly ;p) … And it only just twigged "Heimdall" is actually "Stacker Pentecost" from "Pacific Rim", played by actor Idris "We Are Cancelling The Apocalypse" Elba hahahaaaa. Also check out the "Malekith" character poster posted below - both of which are a sight more impressive than the earlier movie poster itself, I have to say.

I have not seen a single episode of "Breaking Bad", and can hardly any excitement the series has mustered thus far, and has gripped an entire population of peoples, or so it seems. Nevertheless, being able to see folks adapting the television series into a variety of commercial constructs, has been pretty interesting thus far.

Case in point is this HEISENBERG bust by Christopher Genovese, for which they are currently made-to-order for US$100 on Etsy (white plaster version), $150 for bronze-finished plaster and $250 for life-like finish , or via contacting Chris directly at Chrisanchovies@gmail.com.

"I made this bust in the classical style of a king or emperor, which I think is the most appropriate way to remember Heisenberg, as opposed to an action figure for example. This is the last week before Breaking Bad is over and I hope you will consider spreading the word about this unique item."

This could have been featured in a #printroundup, but in anticipation of the series finale, check out Marko Manev’s new entry to his Noir series, “Heisenberg”.

Priced at US$35 for a sized 13 x 19 inches Giclee print on velvet rag paper - this timed edition print will go on sale at Bottleneckgallery.com starting at 8pm eastern and ending at midnight Sunday September 29th.
